The 5th Wheel
CTA in Action: Government Affairs Update

As you know, last month, CTA won a preliminary injunction preventing the State of California from enforcing AB 5 as it relates to motor carriers.

On January 29, Attorney General Xavier Becerra filed an appeal, asking the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to reverse the decision. CTA's lawsuit will be the first challenge to AB 5 heard by the the Ninth Circuit. This is the trucking industry's chance to set good case law precedent.

The preliminary injunction will stay in place pending resolution.

We will not be able to defeat AB 5 without your help.

To keep up the fight against AB 5 in the Court of Appeals, CTA needs your support. This effort is entirely funded by CTA members and stakeholders affected by AB 5. Help us continue to fight by making a contribution to the general legal fund.

We will update membership on the status of this appeal as it progresses.

As always, thank you for your continued support.
