A few CTA members have let us know that they are having quality issues with their IFTA stickers (decals). The Motor Carrier Division of the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration is aware of the quality issues. We have been hearing that there are significant delays with Motor Carrier Permit (MCP) renewals, which is due to a computer failure at the DMV that impacted MCP holders between mid-February and mid-March.

If you are having issues with any of the items listed below, contact Heather Oneto at honeto@caltrux.org.

• You submitted your MCP renewal between mid-February and mid-March with plenty of time before the deadline and it's still significantly delayed
• You never received your MCP renewal notification and your permit is now expired
• Your driver has received a citation because the MCP is expired due to the above delays

CTA recently checked in with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) on the implementation and enforcement status for the use of ELD’s for intrastate operators. According to the CHP they are still anticipating sometime in 2020 for implementation. As has been reported by CTA previously, because of the required economic impact report for any state regulation CHP has put out an RFP to study the economic impact. The Alameda Corridor-East Project (ACE) contractor will be closing all of the westbound and eastbound SR-60 on-ramps and the eastbound off-ramp at Fullerton Road, for seven (7) days starting Friday, April 12, 2019 to Friday, April 19, 2019.

The weekend closure will be continuous from Friday, April 12, 2019 at 11:00 p.m. through Monday, April 15, 2019 at 6:00 a.m.

The weekday closure will take effect starting Monday, April 15, 2019 to Friday April 19, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. These closures are necessary to complete the reconstruction of the ramps and are part of the improvements related to the road widening work on Fullerton Road.

While this work will require the intermittent closure of traffic lanes and sidewalks along the work path, access to local businesses and emergency personnel will be maintained at all times.
