Autumn is deer mating season – which means deer are on the move and less cautious about darting out into the road. For example, in the past two weeks, Caltrans crews in Ukiah have seen an increase in deer collisions. "This happens every fall, but it catches drivers off guard, especially at dusk", said Caltrans South Area Maintenance Superintendent Marty Sills. It is also mating season for elk, which are less numerous than deer, but just as hazardous to motorists here in northern California.
CTA Highlights

CTA’s very first Leadership Academy was a great success! With the recommendation of their supervisors, twenty-five future leaders were registered to attend the event which took place last week at the Burnham Benefits office in Orange County. We were honored to have had an excellent group of individuals who were engaged, involved and eager to learn to be the best and take back to their companies the skills newly acquired.
Saturday, November 11, professional truck driver, Paul Olson of Estenson Logistics out of Ontario, was named Southern California’s Truck Driver of the Year at California Trucking Association’s Annual Driver of the Month/Driver of the Year Awards Banquet at the Pacific Palms Resort in City of Industry, CA.
