August 25 Unit Meeting Recap 

The LA/Orange Unit had an in-depth panel discussion on changes to the Basic Inspection of Terminals (BIT) program administered by CHP. 

The meeting was filled to capacity with 80 individuals in attendance. 

CTA VP of Policy and Government Relations, Eric Sauer, and CHP Commercial Specialists took questions on BIT Program Changes from the LA/Orange members. 

CTA President Mike Yadon presented Alvarez Trucking a 50-year membership plaque. Anita Ortega and Micaela Alvarez accepted the award.

Truck Driver Appreciation Day on Sept. 14

Mark Your Calendar for Wednesday, Sept. 14 for a Joint-Agency Truck Driver Appreciation Day brought to you by the California Highway Patrol & Nevada Highway Patrol.

 

The SB/Riverside Unit held a breakfast meeting on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Holiday Inn Ontario. CTA VP of Policy, Eric Sauer, gave an update on Emerging Regulatory Threats to Your Business.

Every year this event has been successful in raising over $20,000 to benefit different charities. This year the proceeds will benefit battered, abused and neglected children throughout Southern California. So please register for this event. Sign up now for the San Diego/Imperial Unit breakfast meeting on Sept. 21 at TruckNet in San Diego.  A representative from FMCSA will be presenting information on the new FMCSA ELD regulations, equipment requirements, interstate compliance date, and California intrastate expected compliance dates.

The Tri-County Unit will be hosting the Driver Appreciation Day at the Southbound Conejo Enforcement Facility on  Friday, September 16. All drivers will be served a free lunch. Donations for handouts from Tri-County members will be greatly appreciated to put in the individual bags handed to the drivers.
