Government Affairs Update
 
The State Legislature will convene a Joint Hearing for the Select Committee on Ports and Goods Movement this Wednesday, November 3 at 9:30 AM. Chris Shimoda, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, will represent CTA on a panel testifying in front of the legislature on the unprecedented ports congestion. The Committee members will be discussing various topics related to costs, the government’s role, and response to ease current congestion. Group Asks for Personal Conveyance Limits
PrePass®
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance has petitioned FMCSA for a second time to more clearly define the term “personal conveyance” in hours of service regulations. It is asking the agency to add a maximum distance or time limit to the rules.
