Government Affairs Update

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) invites you to participate in a workshop for the proposed Advanced Clean Fleets regulation. This regulation is focused on developing strategies to ensure that the cleanest vehicles are deployed by government, business, and other entities in California to meet their transportation needs. This effort is part of a comprehensive strategy to achieve a zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) truck and bus fleet by 2045 everywhere feasible and significantly earlier for certain market segments such as last mile delivery, public fleets, and drayage applications. | Register
The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is announcing a new round of extensions for commercial driver’s licenses expiring through May 31, 2021. This extension will allow commercial drivers to focus on delivering essential products and supplies during the COVID-19 emergency. | More
The American Transportation Research Institute today released its annual list highlighting the most congested bottlenecks for trucks in America, and the state of California placed eight locations on the list, topped only by Texas with 12.

"California is at the heart of the American economy – from our ports and farms to our factories and cities – the nation relies on our state, and increasingly congestion threatens all of our health and well-being," said California Trucking Association CEO Shawn Yadon. "Increased congestion hurts our economy by adding costly delays, but also harms our environment with unnecessary emissions as trucks and cars stay stuck in traffic. Reducing congestion by investing in infrastructure can be a win-win for all Californians and all Americans." | Read Article
