Pusher Truck Program - Donations Needed

With the 2019-2020 winter months upon us, I'd like to call your attention to the California Trucking Association's (CTA) Pusher Truck Program, one of the many CTA member benefits that makes a difference for thousands of trucking companies each year as they pass the tough mountain climb on Interstate 80.

The CTA Pusher Truck Program is a "one of a kind" program that helps commercial vehicles make it through Donner Pass in snowy weather conditions at no cost to the companies assisted. Voluntary donations and the tireless efforts of CTA members, the California Highway Patrol and Caltrans have kept this program alive. Without the pusher trucks, restrictions may be imposed against commercial vehicle travel during snowstorms.

Last year, CTA member FedEx donated two newer trucks that have replaced the previous pusher trucks. The trucks have been fabricated and are now ready for the Donner Pass winter season. However, the trucks still need to be maintained and sometimes repaired and your donations are critical for the Pusher Truck Program survival.

If your trucks utilize the I-80 Donner Pass corridor, please consider making a contribution to the CTA Pusher Truck Program.
Without the pusher trucks, motor carriers will be held at the chain control signs until the storm conditions have passed. If the driver runs out of hours, the vehicle may have to be commercially towed.

Thank you for your support of this program.
