Reminder: Deadline to Transition from AOBRDs to ELDs is December 16, 2019

Motor carriers using "grandfathered" automatic onboard recording devices (AOBRDs) must transition to electronic logging devices (ELDs) by Monday, December 16, 2019. A "grandfathered" AOBRD is a device that a motor carrier installed and required its drivers to use before the ELD rule compliance date of December 18, 2017. ELDs must be self-certified and registration with FMCSA, View registered ELDs. After December 16, 2019, all drivers and carriers subject to Federal Hours of Service rule must use ELDs unless they qualify for an exemption.View who is exempt from the ELD rule
