Seminar Descriptions
CSAT Reasonable Suspicion Training for Supervisors: This seminar satisfies the training requirements of Title 49 CFR, Part 382.603 for supervisors of employees who perform safety-sensitive functions (i.e., operate CMV). The subject matter is current and includes recognition of the signs and symptoms of alcohol and drug use/abuse, as well as the mechanics of compliance with reasonable suspicion alcohol/drug testing regulations. The training provides the supervisor with a level of comfort with documentation, the decision-making process and methods for approaching and discussing observations with affected drivers. Registration includes a packet of reference materials. A Certificate of Training will be presented to each attendee upon completion of the course. 

DOT A-Z Mini Course: This class is a comprehensive overview of DOT regulations for interstate movement. Covers what is required in a D/Q file, requirements for Drug and Alcohol, Federal Hours of Service and Vehicle Maintenance. Review how Federal regulations differ from California Regulations.

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations Overview: An overview on Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, with emphasis on Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing (Parts 40 & 382); CDL Standards and Requirements (Part 383); General Regulations (Part 392); Driver Qualifications and files (Part 391) and Driving of Commercial Motor Vehicles (Part 392).

Hours of Service (HOS) Title 49 CFR, Part 395: This seminar is an excellent way to become proactive and to protect your company and drivers against the costly results of HOS violations. You will be provided with understandable, real-world training on the federal hours-of-service regulations, the proper use of driver logs, how to effectively audit logs and tips to manage your ELD program. You'll participate in driver log reviews and exercises; learn how to train your drivers to log legally, and to identify inaccurate entries and false logs. In addition, you'll learn key issues that raise red flags for enforcement and investigators, as well as receive an update on recent and pending changes to the regulations. Registration includes a packet of reference material. California intrastate hours of service rules, Title 13 CCR 1212 are also discussed. A Certificate of Training will be presented to attendees upon completion of the course.

Hazardous Materials Transportation: This seminar satisfies the training requirements of Title 49 CFR Part 172.704 for the trucking industry. This newly revised seminar covers: General Awareness, Function Specific, Safety, Security Awareness and In-Depth Security training in a fast-paced style that will hold your attention. The regulation requires that each hazmat employee receive this training within 90 days of the date the employee begins performing hazmat functions, with recurrent training required every 3 years. Registration includes a packet of reference material. A Certificate of Training and a Training Record will be presented to each attendee upon completion of the course. 

How to Do a Proper 90 Day/DOT Annual Inspection: This class will teach students the proper paperwork that must be maintained for the required inspections. Review inspector/brake inspector qualifications. Provide Hands on Training to prepare for doing a proper 90 day/DOT Annual inspection.

Managing an Effective Safety & Compliance Program: This seminar discusses the elements and attributes necessary to manage an effective safety and compliance program in the trucking industry, and how to use them to alleviate some of the inherent stress. The program includes communication techniques, planning and presenting safety meetings, leadership skills, time-management, and accident/incident prevention and investigation. The course also provides direction on how to tackle FMCSA compliance factors, creating and implementing effective policies and procedures and OSHA-in-trucking issues. Registration includes a packet of reference material. A Certificate of Training will be presented to each attendee upon completion of the course. 

Sailing Through Your BIT: This training seminar is designed to assist motor carriers with planning and preparation for successful BIT inspections. Attendees will enjoy a down-to-earth presentation that provides a complete overview of the BIT inspection process, including the CHP selection and safety rating processes. The seminar emphasizes the most frequent problems areas: Driver qualification (including Employer Pull Notice Program and driver files), hours of service, vehicle service and maintenance and Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing. A BIT KIT binder will be provided to each paid attendee, as well as additional pertinent reference material. A Certificate of Training will be presented to each attendee upon completion of the course.
