CTA In The House: Message from CEO Shawn Yadon

Just back from the American Trucking Associations’ (ATA) Annual Management Conference & Exhibition (MC&E), and it is more clear now than ever the involvement, participation and contributions from the trucking community in California. While California motor carriers have long comprised the largest contingent of the ATA’s motor carrier membership base, that doesn’t ‘necessarily’ translate into the most participation and engagement. But I’m here to tell you, California CTA members are not only being impactful within CTA, but at the national level as well. CTA’s 2018 President, Lynnette Brown, was joined at MC&E by nine CTA Past Presidents, two current CTA officers, and several other active CTA carrier and allied members at MC&E, engaging and helping to shape the industry’s debate and discussions on issues of importance to this industry in California, and across the country.

So while many of you work hard to allocate your time in the most meaningful and productive way for your business, know that there is a way to not only lead and run your business but to also step up your involvement with our great association in California. Our CTA members who allocate time for CTA and ATA, are setting the example on how to have an impact on this industry, the policies being considered in Sacramento and Washington, DC, and ultimately, results for their own businesses.

With that in mind, block your calendar for January 23-27 as we set the stage for 2019 at the CTA’s Annual Membership Conference (AMC) to be held in San Diego. Be there for important content impacting your business, networking with the best of the best in trucking, and plans for political engagement so vital for trucking in California. I’ll see you in San Diego.

Until next time,

Shawn Yadon
California Trucking Association
CEO
