City of Norwalk Revises Transportation Permit Fee

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

In response to CTA’s engagement with the City of Norwalk regarding their cost to obtain a transportation fee, the City recently contacted CTA and informed us that they will be revising their transportation permit fee to the state mandated fee of $16.00. The City Attorney for Norwalk reviewed CTA’s letter and confirmed that the city is not allowed to charge more than what is allowed by law. The city will be formalizing the fee schedule via a resolution during the City of Norwalk’s City Council meeting in October. However, the administrative change is already in effect and the city will now be charging $16.00. Thank you to longtime CTA member Reeve Trucking for making us aware of this. If you come across any city or local municipality charging your company more than $16.00 to obtain a single trip extra-legal transportation permit or $90.00 for an annual permit let CTA know! For more information contact Eric Sauer at esauer@caltrux.org.
