Announcing CTA’s 2016 Southern California Driver of the Year Award Recipient

California Trucking Association is proud to announce driver William Gularte of FedEx Freight in San Luis Obispo as the 2016 Southern California Driver of the Year. Mr. Gularte and seventy-two drivers from Southern California received Driver of the Month Awards and Honorable Mention Awards at the annual banquet on Saturday, November 5th at the Pacific Palms Resort Hotel in the City of Industry. Mr. Gularte was selected from the seventy-two drivers for this special recognition.
Mr. Gularte has enjoyed a career of over 57 years as a professional truck driver. During his career, William has driven over 3 million miles accident and injury free. His record proves to everyone that Safety is # 1 on his priority list.
William has been with FedEx Freight for 28 years. During those 28 years he has been active in several FedEx Freight committees, and has received a 25 year safe driver award. His years of experience, wisdom, and knowledge of driving professionally have really set the bar high for the younger generation to follow.
William is fully engaged and committed to FedEx Freight 100%. His customer service skills are exceptional. William is a positive force, serving as a mentor and role model to all employees within the company. FedEx feels very fortunate to have such a well rounded and experienced professional driver working on their team.
