HR/Drivers – Where do I get information for driver responsibilities to put in our Employee Handbook?

Your company determines what the company policies will be for the drivers and the policies should be an addendum to your "Employee Handbook." Drivers need to sign that they have received and understand what their responsibilities are.

The policies should have information on driver responsibilities including truck responsibilities, turning in their driver’s logs and DVIR’s, reporting accidents, citations and incidents. As an additional note, it is mandatory for drivers to turn in their driver’s logs and DVIR's at the end of their shift when they return to their home terminal. If the driver is interstate he/she may not return to terminal regularly, but they must not exceed 13 days of getting them to their home terminal under DOT rules.

Driver's logs and DVIR's can be ordered through the CTA Supply Center and members will receive a 5% discount on these items. To order from the CTA Supply Center call 916-373-3500 or email supplycenter@caltrux.org.
