The Prairie Summit Shop Inc. started in 2006, in Regina, SK, as a mono brand store, selling only products from The North Face.
In 2009 we added a second store in Winnipeg, MB, so we could offer the same product selection we pride ourselves on to the residents of Manitoba. Then in 2011 we added our third store in Saskatoon, SK, for the same reasons.
In 2013 we renamed our stores "The North Face – Regina” (and Winnipeg and Saskatoon respectively). This name change reflected our new partnership with The North Face Canada. We are not a corporate North Face store, rather a partner store to The North Face, which means that we are entrusted by The North Face to represent their products in the best possible manner.
In 2020 we made the change back to operating our stores as Prairie Summit Shop, but continue to offer one the largest, most diverse selections of North Face products in Canada. We are also proud to add additional top quality brands to our stores and our websites such as Helly Hansen, Salomon, Smartwool, Black Diamond, Kombi Sports, and more.
We operate under the Prairie Summit Shop name as this is our incorporated company name, and also our website.
Because we are based in the prairies (hence the name), our stock is selected for the adventures and travels of the area. This by no means is limiting to our customers; in fact, our customers tackle some of the highest peaks, grandest rivers, and travel the most remote countries. It's beneficial because we also deal with the most extreme weather changes on the planet, and come winter time you will find no better outerwear selection to keep you protected all winter long.
When you come into the stores and get overwhelmed by all the products, do not fear. We have the best staff and most knowledgeable North Face and outdoor gurus employed at our stores.
When you come in and start talking with our staff, you will feel confident with the information they are giving you and selections they help you make. Just like how the North Face athletes have specialties, so do our staff, so feel free to ask for the expert in the activity you are shopping for.
We pride ourselves on stocking some of the most diverse selections of The North Face brand products anywhere in Canada (often even having more selection at one time than the corporate stores). We do our best to keep our stores well-stocked, particularly on the best selling items. If we don’t stock what you are looking for, we first check our other locations, but if not, we can often try to special order it from our suppliers. We want to offer not only the best product selection, but also provide the best customer service experience possible.
