Sustainability is a driver for organizational growth and profitability. That statement may have seemed dichotomous at one point, but it's possible to thrive as a business while creating positive social and environmental impact. They aren’t competing goals. In fact, an organized, authentic, and mission-driven approach to sustainability can improve an organization's balance sheet, day-to-day operations, ongoing consumer demand, and future longevity.

Thank you Mark McCullough, CEO at Gebrüder Weiss USA, for sharing this CSCMP Hot Topic.

Central Florida Roundtable
"I joined CSCMP in August of 2016. I wanted to explore the knowledge opportunities and network with other Supply Chain professionals.

The networking opportunities with CSCMP are invaluable to Supply Chain Professionals. Round tables, webinars, and annual conference are great places to share and learn from others. My advice to new members is reach out! This is a great place to find mentors or even better - become a mentor!

I have met many amazing people through CSCMP, ones who have helped me not only gain knowledge, but help me get connected to the right people to be able to share my knowledge."

Poland Roundtable
"I was always passionate about Supply Chain and was engaged in some extracurricular activities in this field at Kozminski University, where I met Professor Jarzebowski, who is the CSCMP Poland President. I was assisting him in organizing CSCMP CEE Conference 2021, and during that time I've learned about numerous opportunities for learning and development that CSCMP offers to young professionals. That's how I've decided that I want to be part of it!

I think the most valuable advice is to make connections with other professionals, especially more senior colleagues. Good connections will enable you to be always in the knowledge of current industry trends, new ideas, and might open to you new great supply chain roles.

Personally, I am a hard learner and what I enjoy most about CSCMP is the huge library of learning materials covering almost all Supply Chain-related topics. As this library constantly expands, there is always a possibility to absorb more knowledge and boost your professional development.

The most impactful connections that I've made are among academics that are part of the CSCMP network. In the past, I was considering an academic career and I really enjoy sharing my thoughts and ideas with people who have a tremendous theoretical background. I highly believe that the cooperation of practitioners with academics is key for delivering outstanding Supply Chain solutions."

According to the July Logistics Manager’s Index Report®, the overall LMI reads in at 60.7, down from June. This is the lowest overall reading since May of 2020, at the height of COVID-19 lockdown. This is down 13.8 points from this time last year, and below the all-time average rate of expansion of 65.2. The overall index has ticked steadily down since registering the all-time high reading of 76.2 in March. We have not seen a score in the 50’s since May of 2020, but if the index continues on its current trajectory we may cross that threshold again in August.

CSCMP Center for Advancement of Talent & Training (CATT)
CSCMP and the CSCMP Ukraine Roundtable have established the CSCMP Talent Center Ukraine Logistics Operations Relief Fund in support of those pre-qualified service providers who deliver medical and food relief to the millions of people affected by the war in Ukraine. We stand with our CSCMP Roundtable community in Ukraine, our members, friends, and colleagues and support their right to live peacefully in a sovereign, free country without the threat of coercion. Please make a tax-deductible contribution to the CSCMP Talent Center Ukraine Logistics Operations Relief Fund enabling medical and food relief to the affected people of Ukraine. Your contribution is tax deductible and upon completion you will immediately receive a receipt right into your inbox.

Your contribution has CSCMP behind it. We will match the first $10,000 USD in donations, dollar for dollar, and will oversee the application of 100% of your contribution to the respective, pre-approved supply chain operations in Ukraine. Our efforts to support the relief effort will also be managed locally by the CSCMP Roundtable Leadership. We will keep our donors informed of progress and the difference your contributions make toward logistics operations that sustain human relief efforts.
