Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals

Current News

Welcome to 2020! I am thrilled to share that 2019 was a great year for CSCMP. We experienced continued growth and had a fantastic EDGE Conference in Anaheim, California. If you haven't seen our year-end recap video, you should definitely watch it here.

There is one effort for which I’m especially proud to have been a part, and that was the donation drive we had for the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN). ALAN was founded in 2005 in the wake of Hurricane Katrina by CSCMP and other associations who cared deeply about our ability to provide logistics assistance to disaster relief organizations before, during, and after catastrophic events.

We've always known and experienced the generosity of logistics and supply chain professionals, not only with their dedication and commitment to volunteering, but their desire to make things better within our supply chain and business communities. This is a great example of tangible benefit from those who joined through CSCMP and donated to ALAN through our membership program.

“CSCMP is where it all started for ALAN in 2005, and CSCMP members step up time after time to provide the supply chain knowledge, expertise, and services so critical for disaster relief activities. We are so incredibly grateful to CSCMP and all of the members for this wonderful gift of support.” - Kathy Fulton, Executive Director, American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN)

We are very thankful for every CSCMP member who chose to participate in the donation drive. Thanks to those efforts, CSCMP was able to donate more than $6,200 dollars to the American Logistics Aid Network.

I don’t simply see this as a good way to end 2019, but more importantly as a great way to start the new decade. On behalf of myself, ALAN, CSCMP Board of Directors and staff, Roundtable officers, members and everyone else who supported this effort and the many other programs and events throughout 2019, I thank you and wish you a healthy and happy 2020.

When and why did you join CSCMP?
I joined NCPDM in 1976 and attended every conference until 2018 when my wife was in the hospital. The networking with business professionals is outstanding. It allows me to bring real-world illustrations and best practices into the classroom, so that I can influence young people to consider logistics and supply chain careers. The educational sessions in the general conference are excellent resources for classroom material, potential guest speakers and research projects. My 43 years of NCPDM/CLM/CSCMP have been a blast and I anticipate making it to 50 conferences attended.

When and why did you join CSCMP?
I joined CSCMP to participate in the networking opportunities as well as the events and other benefits provided by the CSCMP organization. The EDGE Conference in 2018 was my first exposure to CSCMP and I bought in immediately. The Awards process (Case Study, Presentation, etc) was enlightening as I learned more about what other organizations are seeing in the Supply Chain and Logistics industry. The CSCMP Roundtables are also extremely helpful in the networking process locally. Also, the opportunity to mentor someone within the industry is helpful for not just the mentee but also the mentor.
