Cleveland CSCMP Roundtable: New Wild Card in Domestic Transportation: Dimensional Weight

Holiday Inn-Rockside Road, Independence, OH

May 18, 2017

In January of 2015, major parcel carriers began to charge on the basis of dimensional weight – larger of box weight or size. Most shippers had not yet figured out how to deal with this change when parcel carriers further tightened dimensional weight pricing for 2017. Basing transportation pricing on shipment density has also leaked into less-than-truckload with all major carriers applying it, further complicating things especially for small and medium sized enterprises that lack negotiating volume.

Jack Ampuja, who has had more press coverage on dimensional weight than anyone in North America, will discuss the impact of this pricing change and provide insight on what shippers can do to manage this situation.
