Happy New Year from all of us at CMSA! For many of us, a new year symbolizes a fresh start and an opportunity for growth within ourselves – whether personally or professionally – as well as in our relationships with others.

In 2015, our New Year's resolution is to continue to provide valuable resources to our members and community, who enable case managers to do their jobs more efficiently, effectively and competitively, and to further guide you in discovering the resources and tools to empower, engage and advance your career and goals as a case management professional.

What are your resolutions this year?

Access resources that will enable you to reach your goals for the year through CMSA. Read more below!

We’ve rung in the New Year, but the facts on medication adherence remain: The World Health Organization (WHO) defines challenges related to adherence as one of the primary reasons for readmissions and emergency room visits.

Effectiveness in treatment and medication adherence is considered a key skill for case managers and care coordinators, as nonadherence has significant impacts on clinical, financial and patient outcomes.

Click the Learn More link below to see if your adherence knowledge is due for a New Year refresh, and read more about this important subject in this month's issue of CMSA Today!

The New Year always generates a multitude of articles and blogs discussing health care trends and predictions for the coming year, so I thought I would contribute mine also. Throughout 2014, population health management, value-based purchasing and other advancements in health information systems accelerated the pace of change. As health content moves to mobile devices and the availability of internet-enabled care, case managers and patients are poised to benefit from the rise of the ePatient in 2015.
