Early next month, the continuation of the 2012 Health Information Technology (HIT) Survey webinar will take place.  This complimentary webinar, scheduled for February 5, noon-1 p.m. EST, will examine how various health IT applications are changing the practice of care management.  CMSA is a co-sponsor of this bi-annual research project.

The webinar will showcase major findings of the latest survey and review key trends over the last six years in the following areas:
•    Information Technology Infrastructure
•    Caseloads
•    Data Analytics and Return on Investment
•    Satisfaction Rates
•    Adoption Curve

The practice of medicine and nursing has been transformed with the adoption of computers, electronics, and HIT applications and this technology is still evolving.  Care managers are faced with trying to understand what types of HIT systems are out there, how they directly or indirectly impact care management, and how to incorporate them into their daily care management processes.  It’s not easy to keep up with all the advancements, evaluate the trends, and know what to expect in the future.

The goal of this survey was to help us understand these things.  By comparing the results of the 2012 survey with similar surveys that were completed in 2010 and 2008, we gained a better understanding of how emerging information technology applications have changed the practice of care management over the past few years and how it may affect it even more in the near future.

If you joined us for the first webinar, you know how interesting it was.  We received very positive comments about the topics and our speakers.  And I’m happy to announce that Cheri Lattimer, Dr. Joel Brill, and Rob Pock will be joining me again for this webinar.  Please click here to register for the webinar on February 5, noon-1 p.m. EST.

More information:
The results of the 2012 Survey will also be released as a series of ongoing issue briefs, providing an in-depth analysis on the topics, as well as a longitudinal comparison of findings. They will be available for download free-of-charge in early February from the CMSA or TCS Healthcare Technologies websites.
