Proposed rule would safeguard federal funds and ensure consumer protections are in place

On June 14, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a proposed rule outlining program integrity guidelines for the Health Insurance Marketplace (Marketplace) and premium stabilization programs.

Through the Affordable Care Act, consumers and small businesses will have access to new Marketplaces where they can access quality, affordable private health insurance.  Consumers in every state will be able to buy insurance from qualified health plans directly through these Marketplaces and may be eligible for tax credits to lower the cost of their health insurance.
As a partner with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s educational program, CMSA members in all settings have taken advantage of 38 free online programs!

These online programs include case studies, videos, feedback-based learning, and print -- all designed to support awareness of comparative effectiveness and its value in shared decision-making and comparing treatment options in a wide range of conditions, from breast and prostate cancer, to cardiovascular diseases, mental health, diabetes, and more.
