Special Announcement

Last year, CMSA announced its top legislative priorities for the professional practice of case management: Telehealth, Mental Health and Workforce Development. Ready to learn more?

The CMSA Public Policy Committee is pleased to present a free, three-part webinar series, focusing on these key legislative priorities to help inform, share varied perspectives and experiences and provide an update on the activities affecting these areas on Capitol Hill. Each webinar will feature a panel of experts ready to share challenges, success stories, and the reality of today’s policy.

Join for one, two or all three and earn CEs along the way for a total of 3.75 CEs.

Ready to make a difference? Join your peers for the CMSA 2022 Virtual Hill Visits planned for the week of February 21st.

Participation in the CMSA Virtual Hill Visits is open to all CMSA members at no charge.

During this advocacy event, you will meet virtually with members of Congress and/or their health policy staff from your respective areas of the country to educate them about the importance of case managers and our role in improving patient health outcomes. Typically I start the New Year looking at the healthcare predictions and trends for the coming year. This year, I would like to change that.

The past decade (2010 to 2020) experienced some dramatic healthcare challenges and accomplishments, so I would like to start the year by discussing those in this month’s article. Then next month we will focus on looking at the 2022 healthcare predictions and trends.

The following are key milestones and significant events that occurred between 2010 and 2020.

While telehealth technology and its use are not new, widespread adoption among healthcare personnel and patients has been relatively slow. However, recent policy changes during the pandemic have reduced barriers to telehealth access and have promoted the use of telehealth to deliver acute, chronic, primary and specialty care. Join a panel of experts as they share the challenges and successes of expanding access to care through telehealth and review how Capitol Hill is responding.
