CMSA TRANSITION OF LEADERSHIP

During the #CMSA2022 Annual Conference, the leadership of the organization officially transitioned during a gavel exchange ceremony from outgoing President Melanie Prince to incoming President Dr. Colleen Morley.

Immediate Past President Melanie Prince has spent her two years as president advancing both CMSA and the professional practice of case management by strengthening the foundation of the organization with great focus on the 3-C platform she originally ran on for president – community, connectedness and collaborations.

  • A stronger sense of community among chapters as regional formats are embraced, and the new Fellows, who will lead case management into the next decades.
  • Re-connecting with the wisdom and leadership of CMSA past presidents via the Legacy Leaders Council, connecting programs to meet the practical needs of case managers, such as the new CMSA Boot Camp program, and connecting chapter leadership with monthly coffee connects.
  • Establishing formal collaborations with partners and other professional organizations who embrace CMSA’s mission.

CMSA President Dr. Colleen Morley has set the theme for her presidency as "disruptive innovation" for both profession and association. Her focus will be on advocacy, whether advocating for the patient, client, family, or for the profession of case management through impactful storytelling, outreach, and new ideas.

  • The impact of case management interventions that lead to better health outcomes.
  • Case managers recognized and included as a critical member of the interprofessional, transdisciplinary team.
  • Awareness of the public on the value of a case manager and how to connect when needed.

Dr. Morley will serve as CMSA President through 2024. Check back here monthly to view the progress made and resulting growth of your professional organization as CMSA begins to execute a new strategic plan.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in person in Orlando, and to those who tuned in virtually! It was wonderful to be together again, and we look forward to what’s to come. We are stronger together!
