The loss of a loved one (or a patient or client) can have a devastating impact upon those that are left behind. Family members/caregivers are especially vulnerable, and need tools to cope with the loss; but this in no way minimizes the emotional toll taken by care professionals. This webinar will focus on the intense grief both family caregivers and care professionals experience when struggling with the acceptance of someone near and dear passing. A model is introduced in this webinar that include best practices and supportive strategies to help both care professionals and family members/caregivers cope with the loss of a loved one.

Participants in this web seminar will be able to:

  • Identify effective practices for broaching the topic of end-of-life care among frontline caregivers;
  • Understand why emotional detachment can be detrimental to the well-being of caregivers;
  • Describe how ignoring the needs of the caregiver can result in emotional distress; and,
  • Understand the relationship between grief and turnover among frontline caregivers.

This webinar is designed for professional referral sources and family caregivers. One free CEU credit will be offered to all eligible attendees for attending this webinar.
