The Associated General Contractors of America’s chief executive officer, Stephen E. Sandherr, issued the following statement in reaction to the introduction in Congress recently of the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021: “The proposed new immigration bill provides long-needed reforms to the nation’s flawed approach to immigration. By proposing to protect the legal status of so-called “Dreamers” and immigrants participating in the Temporary Protected Status program, the measure will allow more than 100,000 people to continue working lawfully in the construction industry.”

Association News

CISCA recently conducted a membership survey to ascertain whether or not members were willing to travel to the convention in April 2021 and the responses indicated that members are not comfortable traveling yet. Therefore, CISCA's 2021 Convention originally scheduled for April 2021 in New Orleans is being postponed to October 17-20, 2021 in New Orleans. Registration will open in mid-July.

Your association will continue to monitor the situation with COVID and re-evaluate if necessary. CISCA will provide more details on the convention and CISCA's Fall Conference later this month. We will also be in contact with our very generous sponsors within the next four to six weeks.
