The effects are apparent, with reports of losing one million jobs in just one month and a smaller number of cranes in top United States cities for the first time since 2017. With COVID-19 cases continuing to increase, construction companies are likely to encounter continuing struggles with material and labor shortages and possibly the need to shut down jobsites.

Following the passage and signing into law of the most recent COVID-19 relief legislative package, the U.S. Small Business Administration reopened the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) earlier this month.
