The National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB” or “Board”) has revised its standard for determining the lawfulness of an employer’s discipline or discharge of an employee who has engaged in abusive or offensive conduct —including making profane, racist, and sexually unacceptable remarks—in the course of activity otherwise protected under the National Labor Relations Act (“NLRA”).

The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) was a complicated process to calculate, apply and obtain a loan from an approved SBA lender. Now that most contractors that have applied for loans have received them, contractors face other challenges such as bringing back employees, determining qualifying expenses as well as tracking them and calculating the amount of loan forgiveness. This article will address these challenges and provide guidance on how to help ensure loan forgiveness.

Construction employment decreased from June to July in 26 states and the District of Columbia as earlier widespread job gains gave way to more project cancellations, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of government employment data released recently. Association officials said construction employment is likely to continue falling in many parts of the country without new federal recovery measures, including liability reform and new infrastructure funding.

Located at 145 Broadway Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the 19-story facility is the tallest office building in Kendall Square. On a same-store basis, member sales across all AD’s divisions and countries were down 6% through the first six months of this year, to $21.6 billion, driven by a 13% decline in Q2.
