In a fact sheet posted online, the White House broke down how those federal dollars will be allocated: $100 billion to let states and local entities prioritize their own infrastructure needs, $25 billion to grants for rural infrastructure projects, and $15 billion to incentivize "transformative" projects.

The BLS Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) and NAHB analysis indicate that the seasonally adjusted number of open construction jobs, which stood at 203,000 in April 2017, has risen to its highest level since September of last year. (The cycle high was set in July 2016 at 238,000.)

Construction staff wages grew by 3.6 percent in 2016, according to the latest Contractor Compensation Quarterly?from research firm PAS. PAS also predicts that wages will rise by an average of 3.4 percent in 2017, though the predictions are often 0.5 percent low, according to the Associated General Contractors of America.

The CISCA Board of Directors met on Monday, June 5, and discussed membership dues. CICSA has not made changes since our fee reduction and minor adjustments in 2014 due to the recession. An update is necessary and it was the decision of the board that the dues be increased for all membership categories effective July 1, 2017.
