Liberals exploit natural disasters—drought, hurricane, blizzard, you name it—to promote their anti-fossil fuels agenda. Yet now they’re outraged that President Trump is daring to fight fire with fire by making a connection between California’s wildfires and destructive green policies.

The President on Sunday tweeted that "bad environmental laws" are magnifying California’s horrific wildfires by not "allowing massive amount of readily available water to be properly utilized." He added, "Tree clear to stop fire spreading!," and on Monday he complained that "vast amounts of water" were being "diverted into the Pacific Ocean" that could be used for "fires, farming and everything else."

There are two trillion-dollar markets that are great new business opportunities for Amazon, according to D.A. Davidson.

The firm reiterated its buy rating for Amazon shares, saying the e-commerce giant should enter the travel and gas station markets.

"Based on our estimates, Amazon is currently pursuing 8 of 10 market opportunities that exceed $1T, globally. We see an opportunity for it to exploit the remaining two - gas (stations) and travel," analyst Tom Forte said in a note to clients Tuesday. The "company has a history of solving complex logistical problems. Financially, it seeks opportunities that can generate significant free cash flow."

California is firing back at the Trump administration with a plan to safeguard the state's greenhouse gas emissions rules from a proposed federal rollback.

A state Air Resources Board proposal released Tuesday would force automakers to meet California's existing standards on car and truck pollution, even if weaker ones are adopted by the Trump administration.

When Assembly Bill 398 (Garcia, E) was signed into law last year to extend California's landmark greenhouse gas cap-and trade carbon market through 2030, it directed the California Air Resources Board (ARB) to modify the program's cost containment mechanism. The intent of AB 398 is for ARB to develop safeguards that will help regulate the cap-and-trade market, anticipate program problems and ensure market stability.

Legislators specifically directed ARB to incorporate two components into the regulation: develop a carbon price ceiling that creates more certainty in the market, inviting greater investment in new technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and incorporate two intermediate price containment points to contain costs and protect against sudden price spikes.
