CIOMA Announces Change in Leadership

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

As announced last week, CIOMA is undergoing changes in leadership now and through the end of the year. The CIOMA board has been preparing behind the scenes for Jay McKeeman's upcoming retirement at the end of November 2016. Jay let CIOMA's leadership know of his retirement plans over a year ago so we would have ample time to plan and find the right person. Jay will finish out the legislative cycle, wrap up issues and transfer much needed "institutional knowledge" to his successor and our staff through November 23rd, his last day.

While we were in the process of interviewing for a new VP - Government Relations, the CIOMA Board received bad news in the form of a resignation letter from our Executive Vice President, Julia McCann due to health issues. She has graciously agreed to provide us with a two month notice so we can have a smooth transition with her last day as August 5th.

In last week's announcement, we welcomed Ryan Hanretty as CIOMA's new Executive Director who will join the team on July 18th. CIOMA will now have an ED that will oversee our GR efforts as well as manage the day to day business of the organization. He will be supported on the GR and Legislative side by a full time staff position. Also announced in recognition of their respective expertise and dedication, Trina Isidro (Deputy Director), Christina Bauders (POC & Convention Director) and Lisa Weber (Accounting & Admin Director) have been promoted and will take on additional responsibilities in support of CIOMA's mission.

We all want to thank Julia (EVP) for her 13 years of hard work managing CIOMA's daily operations as well as the Pacific Oil conference and Jay (VP-GR) for his 18 years prowling the State Capitol on our behalf with countless hours spent communicating issues to and for our members. Both are moving on following major victories with the defeats of SB350 last year and SB 1400 this year. The CIOMA family wishes them the absolute BEST life has to offer in the next chapters of their lives. We have benefitted greatly from their efforts, separately and together, for many years. Please reach out to them and let them know how they have impacted your business and personal lives over their tenure. Share the memories we have all built together as the CIOMA family.
