Hot Topics From the Golden State at this year's NACS Show

This year's 2015 NACS Show was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center on October 11-14, 2015.  On Sunday, October 11, sessions were well attended and hallways were jammed.  Conference attendees joined California retailers as they discussed legislative and regulatory practices.  Dan Maniaci, President of Maniaci Insurance Services spoke about "Cadillac Tax 101".  He explained what the employers responsibilities are and how this excise tax applies to group health coverage.  Colin P. Calvert, Esq. is an associate of Fisher & Phillips, LLP who spoke about the topic of "California's Paid Sick Leave Mandate--What Employers Need to Know to Navigate the New Minefield of Wage & Hour Liability".  He shared with attendees the basic requirements and explained how to get compliant with local laws.  Chris Bambury, General Manager of Bambury, Inc. moderated the session and provided attendees with a brief update of key legislative and regulatory issues that CIOMA has been working on.
