Keynote Speakers Announced

Day at the Capitol

Tuesday, April 7 & Wednesday, April 8 | Sacramento, CA

The California Independent Oil Marketers Association (CIOMA) is pleased to announce the slate of keynote speakers who will address attendees at Day at the Capitol 2015, April 8, 2015, at the California State Capitol in Sacramento, CA.

Designed to provide CIOMA members an annual opportunity to forge relationships with their elected representatives, Day at the Capitol also helps CIOMA establish partnerships with California lawmakers, which will ultimately benefit our industry.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

This annual lobby, April 8, day will begin with a presentation from Brook Taylor, Deputy Director of Communications at the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development who will provide some insight about the Governor's recent programs and initiatives and background on state small business assistance and advocacy. Also joining us is Tyson Eckerle, Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Project Manager, at the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development who will address members more specifically about the opportunities of potential partnerships between CIOMA and GoBiz.

Differing from years past, we are providing a first-ever "Mock Visit" session where useful tips on visit protocols and format will be demonstrated. In addition, we have a lunch presentation in store for you where leaders from the Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) will brief CIOMA members on western state petroleum issues for 2015.

MAKE PLANS NOW TO JOIN US IN SACRAMENTO FOR ALL MEETINGS & ACTIVITIES:

Keep in mind that this is a two-day event which kicks-off on Tuesday, April 7 at The Citizen Hotel where CIOMA's Government Relations Committee meeting will take place. This meeting provides a forum for members to learn about CIOMA's legislative and regulatory issues and includes a discussion of establishing our top priorities for the coming year. This meeting is open to all registrants.

Following the GR Committee Meeting we are holding a Welcoming Cocktail Reception where you'll also have an opportunity to place your bids on an attractive array of quality, member-supplied items - with proceeds going to CIOMA's Political Action Committee. Afterwards, join other members and participants in the presentation of CIOMA Legislative Awards, recognizing key legislators and staff members who have engaged in significant contributions assisting the survival of industry sector. After the Awards Dinner we will have a last-chance bidding round and announce the winners of the coveted auction items.

We request your advance registration so we can be sure to schedule an appointment with your legislative representatives.
