Promoting inclusivity through globalisation

Our CMP family spans six continents across people of all ages, genders, races and walks of life.

It is our work—our passion for the CMP—that brings us together under one common goal: to host events and meetings that are of the highest caliber.

For the Events Industry Council, our global organisational footprint is propelled by technology through social media and virtual platforms allowing us to reach more people than ever.

So what does promoting globalisation mean for the event professional? How can we use it to promote inclusivity and diversity for our events and meetings?

When we’re able to include a lot of different voices, we greatly benefit. How something affects one person might be completely different from another. Being able to bring people together—whether that’s physically or in the digital space—we allow people to connect and share their experiences. Those shared experiences create conversations and spark ideas on both a micro and macro level.

At the heart of meeting and event planning, bringing people together is key. When we open our doors to the greater world, we invite those who may have not had a seat at the table before. Hearing their thoughts and ideas makes us work smarter and harder.

So before you start planning your next big meeting or event, ask yourself: How can I make this more global? Is there a community who could be positively affected by this event who maybe doesn’t know about it? Is there anything we can do to deliver our content to people around the globe? Beyond our current silo?

If you think beyond just the usual suspects and set your sights on global inclusivity, who knows what you might be able to accomplish.
