Volunteer/Join a Committee

The best way to get the most out of your MPI-CAC membership is by joining a committee. It’s a great way to network, utilize your skills or challenge yourself to try something new! We know everyone has busy schedules, but many of our committees have a variety of tasks that can be done in just one hour a month!

Committees are always looking for members with leadership skills, creative mindsets and the drive to collaborate with fellow industry professionals. Click here to see the full list of committees and to fill out the committee interest form.

Committee Spotlight – Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee

Vice President, DEI – Kara Ferguson, MSHTM, CMP, DES, HMCC (American Association of Anesthesiologists)

Chair – Roz Dixon (Meet Chicago Northwest)

What is your committee responsible for?

The DEI Committee is responsible for ensuring there is equal opportunity and involvement for the MPI-CAC community and that a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere across race, gender, age, religion, identity and experience is constant.

How often does your committee meet?

Our committee meets monthly. That is the second Monday of each month from 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. CDT.

What are some tasks people do for your committee?

Devise policies, review procedures, update operations and bring awareness to the MPI-CAC community.  Committee members collaborate with other committees and act as a resource as they develop their annual plans and business strategies. Each committee member is an ambassador to ensure strategies are being implemented that place diversity, equity and inclusion at the center of each committee’s business plan and the organization as a whole. These members have made a commitment to support MPI’s mission and vision on DEI, actively participate in making actionable changes and foster intentional dialogues on ways to create more equitable opportunities within the community.

What makes your committee fun or stand out?

We share so many great initiatives and ideas with a pooling of opinions. Our committee includes members from different backgrounds, experiences, abilities, values and viewpoints who share one common goal. We welcome more members to join our committee to help bring about the change they want to see in a delightful manner.
