This year’s Leadership Day, hosted at the beautiful River Roast, brought together members and industry peers for an afternoon that reminded us what it truly means to lead with purpose. With 69 registrants in attendance, the program was one of the most impactful of the year — an energizing blend of insight, vulnerability, and community.
Guided by Amy Waninger, who served as keynote speaker, moderator, and host, the session offered a thoughtful exploration of inclusive leadership and the ways in which we can each create space for others to rise. Her message resonated deeply with the audience, sparking moments of reflection and meaningful dialogue that carried throughout the afternoon and into the networking reception that followed.
The highlight of the day was the panel discussion, also moderated by Amy, featuring Hilary Saurer, Past President of MPI-CAC; Allison Hines, current MPI-CAC President; Jessica Lindberg, incoming Chapter President; Iman D. Strong, Vice President of Leadership Development & IDEA; and D.R. Smith, Director of Leadership Development & IDEA. Together, they shared powerful perspectives on mentorship, inclusion, and the realities of balancing professional commitments with volunteer leadership. Their dialogue underscored the spirit of MPI — a community built on collaboration, accessibility, and shared growth.
Attendees left feeling inspired, informed, and connected — and the post-event feedback reflected that enthusiasm, with an outstanding 4.87 out of 5 survey score. Participants also earned three CEU credits, adding professional value to an already enriching experience.
A special thank-you goes to River Roast, whose partnership and hospitality helped set the stage for an event that was as inviting as it was inspiring. The venue’s warmth and energy mirrored the sense of purpose and camaraderie that filled the room from beginning to end.
As we look ahead, Leadership Day remains a cornerstone of MPI-CAC’s mission to nurture leadership at every level, offering members the opportunity to be mentored by peers, build confidence, and discover the framework for growth both within the association and in their own careers. We look forward to returning next year and continuing to build on the foundation of growth, connection, and shared leadership that makes our chapter thrive.
