SOURCE: Podiatry Today
A recent post hoc analysis of a multicenter, assessor-blinded, randomized controlled trial has revealed encouraging results for the use of bromelain-based enzymatic debridement (BBD) in the management of diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). The findings suggest that BBD may significantly improve wound bed preparation and accelerate healing in patients with chronic diabetic wounds—a very much at-risk population that podiatrists treat regularly.

It’s a physics problem – We live dynamic lives, in turn, we suffer dynamic consequences! In the last installment, we focused on our problematic anatomy. We continue this discussion by looking at what happens when we add the interaction between 2 dissimilar bodies, the foot and the floor, and the introduction of force. The bad news is that our feet collide with the support surface with force, and that support surface returns the favor by hitting the foot in an equal and opposite manner called the ground reactive force.

Chiropodist Wanted for full time employment in Sudbury. Plus opportunity to own clinic. (Posted April 2, 2025)
Apply soon, this will not last:
*60/40 % Split for 1 year to start you off. Yes, you get 60% from all patients you treat.
*If you want a salary, that is also fine: 90k for first year.
*For first year, we both work. I will try to pass many of my own and new patients towards you so you can build a following. I will pay front staff, rent, heat, hydro, all expenses to operate the clinic (orthotics split with minus the cost, of course). Two assessments to determine suitability during this period. I will provide training for new grads. Experience an asset. Doing “Business” is not easy…it is a whole different set of challenges than that of clinical care, but I will make you learn all the ropes! *Then from second year, I will decide on full partnership 50/50, based on first year assessment.
* FULL partnership 50/50 after 1 year, when you yourself will find that it is a much better deal that way based on income you see for yourself. We both pay all expenses and split ALL income 50/50, from year 1 to 5. It’s a practise built over 28 years, and we have an excellent reputation, and many new patients daily. Sounds good? But wait, there is more…
*Potential to OWN the whole practise in the 6th year with all my patients built over 28 years-plus, with excellent word-of-mouth referrals, and doc referrals in Northern Ontario! You will transition gently and comfortably, build your own patient load which you will inherit, and inherit all my patients and the full practise later (of course, we can negotiate all equipment, ESWT, Lasers, etc. and chattels at the time with excellent rates). We have an excellent 4-corner location in the Medical Arts Centre with tons of parking, many family physicians in the building, with great traffic and huge signage facing the road for Medical Centre Foot Clinic and Orthotics!
*What you need:
Compassionate and ethical focus on patient care. Most of our patients are repeat patients
Must maintain and upgrade knowledge and skills with regular Con-Education credits
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently/team setting
