Osteochondral lesions of the talus can be a challenging issue in the young, active patient. Although there are reasonable results with non-surgical and arthroscopic treatments, there are a subset of cartilage injuries that can test the best foot and ankle surgeon. Unfortunately, cartilage injury remains a difficult pathology in the sense that it does not heal and repair in the manner we have become accustomed to with other soft tissue and bone structures.

One has to wonder a bit why it took the pandemic to induce one very large change we all experienced: the shift from centralized to decentralized workspaces, at least for those of us in academia. University professors have always had much freedom of choice in how they perform their jobs and complete their tasks. Many…some?… have creatively used their freedoms to conduct their work not just from home but from other enjoyable places for some time. 

Community and health services often overlook health care needs of persons experiencing homelessness, which leads to deterioration in health and increased utilization of emergency services. Since homeless people are underrepresented in health service research, little is known about their unmet health care needs, particularly in smaller cities where resources are limited. This community-based participatory research explored the experiences of small-city homeless service users (HSUs) with unmet health care needs and community service providers (CSPs) who work with them to determine barriers to health care access affecting them. 

Chronic low back pain and biomechanical walking imbalances are closely related. It is relevant to identify if there are alterations in spatiotemporal gait patterns in subjects with CLBP (cases) versus healthy subjects (controls) to plan training interventions of motor control gait patterns, and thus allowing normal physical activity of the individual. This study is intended to identify if spatiotemporal alterations occur in the gait cycle in CLBP subjects (cases) compared with a control group (healthy patients) analyzed with an OptoGait LED sensors gait program.
