Inflammation associated with gout may change tissue elasticity. Ultrasound imaging using shear wave elastography (SWE) offers a non-invasive method of quantifying changes in tendon stiffness. These authors sought to determine differences in Achilles tendon stiffness in people with gout compared to controls (non-gout) using SWE.

Foot and ankle problems are common in rheumatic disorders and often lead to pain and limitations in functioning, affecting quality of life. There appears to be large variability in the management of foot problems in rheumatic disorders across podiatrists. To increase uniformity and quality of podiatry care for rheumatoid arthritis (RA), osteoarthritis (OA), spondyloarthritis (SpA), and gout a clinical protocol has been developed.

Improving nursing students’ attitudes towards patient safety is a current and relevant topic. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational intervention based on critical incident and root cause analysis (RCA) techniques regarding attitudes towards patient safety in nursing students. A quasi-experimental before and after study was developed between January 2018 and December 2019 in a sample of 100 nursing students at Universitat Jaume I (Spain).
