The cancellation of the 2021 Food Processing Expo and Silent Auction has resulted in a significant deficit in CLFP’s Scholarship Fund. The COVID-19 pandemic is creating uncertainty again for the current California legislative session, as fewer hearings will be heard due to safety protocols that may affect the number of bills that ultimately will be heard in policy committees. Access to the California Capitol continues to be restricted and advocacy efforts will continue to be remote via online meetings with legislators and staff and call-in testimony for hearings.
