Grow, Learn, Connect is the theme of Food Processing Expo 2019 to be held February 12-13 at the Sacramento Convention Center. Participation in the Expo, the largest trade show of its kind in the state, has been growing steadily, increasing by some 20 percent in just the last few years. In 2018, the Expo exceeded 2,700 in attendees and featured 65 new exhibitors.

Plenty of rainfall through the end of last year and during January has boosted California’s water supplies to 105 percent of normal, painting a completely different picture from a year ago. The California Legislature reconvened on January 7. Many new bills are currently being introduced with a bill introduction deadline of February 22. CLFP is busy analyzing these new legislative proposals and determining their impact on the state's food processing industry. Legislative policy committees will begin hearing bills in April.
