Food Processing Expo 2020 will be held in a new location at the Santa Clara Convention Center, February 12-13. CLFP is arranging a dynamic and exciting array of speakers and workshops. Attendee registration opens September 2, while exhibitor registration is ongoing.
 
 
   
Raffle items are needed for CLFP’s 23rd Annual Supplier Host Council Golf Tournament to be held Monday, October 21, in Stockton. The tournament, which raises funds for CLFP’s Scholarship Program, will be held in a new location this year at the Brookside Country Club.
 
 
   
The application process for the CLFP 2019-20 Member Company Scholarship program is now open. CLFP offers a Scholarship Program to full-time employees and their dependents employed by CLFP Processor and Supplier Host Council Members. The application deadline is September 13.

CLFP, in conjunction with affiliate member the Zenith Insurance Company, offered its first free CLFP members-only webinar on August 8 called “Understand How to Implement Cal/OSHA’s Emergency Standard on Worker Exposure to Wildfire Smoke.”
 
CLFP is working on offering additional webinars for CLFP members.
 
 
   
CLFP will continue its one-day fall meeting format for the 2019 Fall Board of Directors Meeting when it meets at Wine & Roses in Lodi on Thursday, October 24.The meeting is open to all CLFP board members.

The California State Legislature returned to the Capitol on August 12 after its summer recess and will be in session until September 13. There are several bills impacting the food processing industry that are still moving through the legislative process. These bills include those involving unprecedented product and packaging regulations, regulatory uncertainty and litigation risks to regulated entities by some state agencies, independent contractor status and labor issues.
