CLFP Webinar Held on Emergency Wildfire Smoke Protection Regulation

CLFP, in conjunction with affiliate member the Zenith Insurance Company, held a free CLFP members-only webinar on August 8 called “Understand How to Implement Cal/OSHA’s Emergency Standard on Worker Exposure to Wildfire Smoke.”

The webinar is in response to the Cal/OSHA Standards Board passing an emergency wildfire smoke protection regulation on July 19 that will impact agricultural and food processing operations. The Cal/OSHA Division of Occupational Safety and Health has set the first meeting for August 27 in Oakland to advise on the permanent regulation. The Standards Board has urged the Division to be more open to dialogue with stakeholders going forward, which would potentially help CLFP and the business community craft a better permanent regulation.
