2015 CLFP Capitol Day
CLFP held its Seventh Annual Capitol Day on February 17, 2015. The day was a success providing CLFP member companies the opportunity to meet and converse with Legislators and legislative policy staff, build relationships, and educate policy-makers about the issues impacting the food processing industry.
The day began with a briefing breakfast that included Assembly Member Kristin Olsen, the recently elected Assembly Republican Leader, as our guest speaker.
The group then went to the Capitol to meet with their legislators. The California Legislature has just begun its 2015-2016 Legislative Session. There are a lot of newly-elected legislators, so Capitol Day was an excellent opportunity for CLFP member companies to meet these freshman legislators and acquaint them with the food processing industry in California.
CLFP member companies participating in Capitol Day included: Campbell Soup Supply Company, Kraft Foods, Sensient Natural Ingredients, Horizon Nut Company, The Morning Star Packing Company, Mooney Star Farms, LLC, Olam Spices and Vegetable Ingredients, J.G. Boswell Tomato Co., Stanislaus Food Products, and ConAgra Foods. CLFP looks forward to increasing participation in this event in the future.
