Permit Assistance Available from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development

The Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GO-BIZ) was created by Governor Brown to serve as California’s single point of contact for economic development and job creation efforts.  The Permit Assistance Unit provides comprehensive permit and regulatory compliance assistance for businesses in California and serves as a central source for permit guidance.  The Permit Assistance Unit also manages CalGOLD, an online permit assistance website (www.calgold.ca.gov) that provides a listing of federal, state, and local permits and how to obtain information about those permits.

GO-BIZ has partnered with Cal EPA to reinvigorate the Consolidated Permit Process, where an applicant can request to have all of their state environmental permits issued by one agency.  This can save the applicant from submitting numerous documents to various agencies, each of whom may be using a different timeline, application form, etc.

To learn more about GO-BIZ or the Consolidated Permit Process you can contact Paul Martin, GO-BIZ Deputy Director by phone at (916) 322-0572, or by e-mail at paul_martin@gov.ca.gov.
