State Water Board Fee Proposal

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

At a workshop held on February 1, State Water Board staff proposed changes to fees charged to permit holders for the 2016/2017 budget year. The fees for holders of Industrial General Storm Water Discharge Permits will decline by 10.2 percent, but fees for Waste Water Discharge (WDR) permits will increase by seven percent. WDR fees had not increased in the last two years. The fees collected are used to support the board’s monitoring, permitting and enforcement programs, which receive little money from the State’s General Fund. The board’s staff proposal will be subject to a public comment period and will not be formally adopted by the board until later this year. CLFP will be monitoring this proposal.
