Cantel has partnered with SGNA and will be conducting four live webinars this fiscal year. The third webinar titled “The Chemistry of Cleaning” will take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 11:00am-12:00pm CDT.  

This webinar welcomes SGNA members and nonmembers to attend (SGNA membership is not required). There is no cost for this webinar, however, participants are required to pre-register.The webinar will be recorded and available on Educational Dimensions for CE credits.

Program Overview

The purpose is to provide information and guidance to participants to help them select the appropriate medical detergents for pre-treatment, manual and automated cleaning, and biofilm removal from flexible endoscopes. The focus on chemistry will provide a foundation of knowledge about the differences in cleaning action and chemicals that will support best practice in the gastrointestinal endoscopy suite. 

Contact Hours

Upon successful completion of the entire program, including any question and answer session, and submission of required documentation, participants will be granted 1 contact hour CNE credit. No partial credit will be granted. 

Accreditation

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 08747, the District of Columbia Board of Nursing, Provider Number 50-574, the Florida Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 50-574, the Georgia Board of Nursing, Provider Number 50-574 and the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses, Provider Number 50-26112.

According to the criteria of the American Board of Certification for Gastroenterology Nurses (ABCGN), 1 hour earned in this activity are considered GI Specific for the purpose of recertification by contact hours through the ABCGN.

This program has been pre-approved by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) for 1 hour.

This program has been approved by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) for 1 hour.

This program is acceptable for surgical technologist recertification by the National Center for Competency Testing.
