Hope everyone is staying well during this difficult time.

I would like to take this moment to thank each and every one in helping the healthcare community able to do what is needed to help our patients get better during this difficult times and the great work in helping to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The coronavirus is still in a phase where people we know, our friends, neighbors, our colleagues, and people we don’t know are affected by this pandemic. Medical Device Reprocessing Family is committed to help maintain health and safety and wellbeing of patients and other healthcare professionals.

The ETA chapter had one nominations submitted to all positions available:
• President – Jocelyn Samson
• Vice President - Maria Raj
• Secretary – Ariel Buchanan
• Treasurer – Judith Cojuangco
• Chapter Education Director – Lystra Shah
• Outgoing President and Chapter Rep – Pablo Ramiro

I am hopeful all existing members will re-sign as well as new members to register for new membership when the New Membership Year begins in June 2020. All members are asked to sign up early so they can begin to receive relevant news letters and e-mails from the Chapter. All members are encouraged to participate in any upcoming MDRAO activities.

Financially, as of June 8, 2020, the chapter has $8,205.99 in the bank. As discuss amongst the chapter executives, some of these money was intended for site visit / education for members as this year is not a conference year. It was even suggested a day education trip out of town is being considered.

Garry Bassi, Jocelyn Samson with some members did a site visit to ENDOCH Medical Scope Repair Facility in Concord, Ontario, Canada. Endoch Inc is a leading endoscope manufacturer, rigid and semi flexible endoscopes with a repair facility on site.

Cantel Canada, company offers an expansive portfolio of endoscopy, was also booked and ready to take the ETA chapter for an educational tour of their facility in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. Unfortunately it was cancelled due to pandemic.

Over all the ETA chapter had a successful year able to send some of the members to the MDRAO conference, conducted a well-attended education day in April 6, 2019 and members attended the Hospital for Sick Children all-in-campaign Medical Device reprocessing Education Day with speakers from various Medical Devices vendors and distributors, November 9, 2019.

On behalf of the ETA Chapter outgoing executive team I would like to congratulate the incoming team and best wishes to all.

Stay safe and well.

Regards,

Pablo Ramiro

President MDRAO ETA Chapter
