THETA REPORT

Please accept my warmest greetings to all fellow Theta members, new Theta members and honoured guests from other CSAO chapters. Theta chapter membership stands at 104 members and growing. Thank you on behalf of  CSAO. I am unfortunately unable to attend this meeting but I will be here in spirit. Actually, I am probably undergoing some stress relief by a pool in Florida right about now.

Summer has come and gone in a flash, and here we are at the beginning of a new education year. Colleen and Tammy have lined up some impressive speakers on topics that are not only timely and pertinent, but are topics picked from the feedback that you have sent in. If you would like to propose some new business, please feel free to speak up when the new business item comes up later in this meeting.

This year’s conference was a hit with plenty of networking and information sharing among members and suppliers. I was able to meet a number of our Theta members and look forward to meeting many more in the coming year. I have one invitation to tour one facility in the north and would like to visit a few more up there to make it a one or two day trip.

I spoke about change at this year’s education day. This year has had no shortage of changes. There have been lots at least at NBRHC. I like to think our team here is leading this change and would ask, "Are you?" Are you leading the change or are you struggling against it and following it kicking and screaming. Many in my generation get settled in and are comfortable and resist change. We don’t like change. But change we must, and the first things we must change are ourselves and our attitudes towards changes. Only then will the tensions ease and real changes good changes happen.

Barack Obama once said, "Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."

Once again thank you for your support and dedication and the opportunity to serve you.
