It is quite an interesting time of change at this time of the year. The change of seasons brings an end to summer and I am sure we will all be quite busy once again in our MDR departments, as autumn is now upon us and work volumes increase. The annual CSAO conference has recently taken place and was extremely successful in all respects. Congratulations to all who helped organize the conference, vendors who sponsored the events, speakers who presented, award winners and all delegates who attended. We all definitely "Took it to the TOP!" It was also a first for CSAO to have a Conference Mobile APP and it was very well utilized. With hundreds of posts and pictures submitted over the three day period, it definitely added to the conference.

More change with a new incoming Executive team that transitioned into this conference seamlessly and are taking on new roles. We also welcome Andy Straisfeld, our new Vendor Representative to the Executive team, and look forward to working with him and all the vendors once again. Many thanks to Chris Collins from 3M who represented the vendors so well the last two years.

CSAO will be attending the first ever Canadian Association of Medical Device Reprocessing(CAMDR) Conference in Winnipeg October 16-19, 2014. We will be working hard to promote our new textbook to be used across the country and partnering with CSA who will recognize our resources as reference material for the CSA MDR Certification. What an exciting and positive change this will be!

I am very happy to be the new CSAO Vice President at this time of change. There are many exciting opportunities at this time that will aspire to move our association to new heights. I am looking forward to working with the new Executive Board of Directors on these initiatives. I am fortunate to have worked with so many colleagues and met many more through the CSAO who are all dedicated to excellence and best practices in our profession. I hope this time of change is a positive one for all in our MDR profession and ultimately improved patient safety.
