Gamma Chapter Report

We have had a good year. We have got five new people involved with the Chapter. This has been a very big positive change of the morale to the Executive. It has been along time since we have had that many get involved. This has meant we have more to discuss at meetings. Like what equipment do we have as they are looking to acquire new machines. Can give pros or cons to the different machines available. Or if having a problem with one, then as we all talk we come up with a solution. Due to the large area we are in we sometimes have different repair or reps that can give assistance. In all, we are having much better meetings.

We now feel that we will be able to host a day in June on scopes, as this seems like the most popular subject. Will talk about flexible and rigid scopes. We will have all the details sent out in the next few days. By doing this we will have achieved a goal we set almost two years ago. But we did not want to go through all the work and only have three or four show up as we were to meetings.

Now that we have started to grow, we hope we will continue to grow and get more of the hospitals involved again. As the others will hopefully see what is happening and will want to take part in the chapter again.

Thank you all for a wonderful two years. I have met some wonderful people from being involved in this organization. No matter whom you talk with, from anywhere in the province, we are able to discuss our work and be able to understand what can be done to give assistance or ask for assistance. As we are all given the same education and standards. We all are able to make recommendations to make improvements not just a small few.

The one thing that I would like to see is that we become licensed; so then everyone will be a member. Not the few that are now. This will then make us professionals allowing a yearly fee to generate more income without a lot of time or effort. This would then make it possible to have larger numbers at the conference. With time, this could be a goal that is reached. With more people involved the more strength we have. After looking over the numbers we have in the C.S.A.O., I understand why there is a drive on to get new members. As more people retire, we will start to become smaller in numbers and will have to come up with more ways to make an income to survive.

Thank you,

David A. Bobier
