THETA Chapter Report
EDUCATION SESSION & MEETING THETA CHAPTER By Video conferencing September 5, 2012 Attendance 1:15-1:30 Meeting 1:30-3:00 pm Minutes Jeffrey Phelps Secretary
1. Due to technical difficulties at Sault Ste. Marie site the meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m. by Past President Colleen Landers. Colleen asked each site to complete evaluation Forms and send to Nancy Aelick nancyaelick@gmail.com and complete attendance forms and send to Jeffrey Phelps phelpj@nbrhc.on.ca. Colleen asked that we please send by Monday, Sept. 9, 2012, to be credited for attendance and so we can get the minutes out to everyone. It is important that we take the time to do attendance of Theta chapter sites for our records so the first few minutes will be taken for this process. Your site can sign in from 1:15 to 1:30 so we do not take time from the meeting. 2. Minutes of the April 2012 Meeting (attached). The motion to adopt the minutes as read was made by Nancy Aelick and seconded by Tammy Bernardo at 1:35 Colleen asked for any errors or omissions? None heard. The following points we discussed in order by Colleen: 3. Membership. Colleen announced that we have 104 paid members in Theta Chapter. 2012/13 New Membership forms available at http://www.csao.net/ and attached to agenda. All sites need to have members to attend. Please renew your membership. It is important that all reprocessing staff and managers be CSAO members. Theta members will receive the following for being members; a) Theta members who had signed up for their membership by September 1 will receive a Theta reusable bag for CSAO Week October 14-20. Thanks for registering early. These bags will be delivered after conference. b) Attend three meeting September 5, November 7, and Feb 6, and your name will go into draws; - 2 Theta members to attend the 2013 CSAO conference with expenses to $1000.00. - 3 Theta members register for recertification and pass and $300.00 will be reimbursed. This is why membership and attendance important. 4. Education: Classroom: May 8, 9, 10 & 11, 2013, Registration Deadline: March 9, 2013 All forms at http://www.csao.net/. Form attached with agenda. Location: Being held by Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) with host site location: Timmins, along with OTN remote site locations: Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Orillia and New Market. Many sites have limited space so registration will need to be sent early. Re-certification candidates must register by Feb. 1, 2013. You should have 20 hours of education for prior to this. Must be completed by the end of April 2013. Applications were attached to agenda. 5. Third Theta Education Day: Registration attached. April 26 and 27, North Bay Best Western Hotel Topics: Implants Reprocessing and Release, Quality System for Drapes, Gowns and Wrappers , C. Landers Flexible Scopes - Difficulty Cleaning and Storage Jodi Carroll Vantage, Review of Basic Reprocessing Michelle Bellefeuille, Sterilization Quality Systems Marta McBurney 3M. Application was attached. 6. Annual CSAO Conference September 10, 11, 2012, Double Tree by Hilton Dixon Road Toronto Registration form posted on the website www.csao.net.t 130 delegates attending. 7. Future Meetings: If not registered send site and system to Nancy Aelick, nancyaelick@gmail.com. Meeting dates for 2012-2013 are the following: All Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3 p.m., sign in at 1:15. 9. At 1:40 President Michelle Bellefeuille welcomed Nancy Blanchet to the CSAO and started her presentation:
